Flowers. Definitely one of the most frequent elements in my closet, being part of a big amount of garments like dresses, blazers, bags, shoes and pants. I have a quick look around me, right now, while I write, fearing on what I know it’s coming next and then I see it: I am surrounded by flowers, they are everywhere. My notebooks, planner, makeup packaging, sheets and a tea cup. Probably if I’d start opening drawers and boxes, I would find more. Better not to.
Flowers inspire me. I find them delicate, pure, lively and they vibe me good vibrations. You just need to make a quick search on my home page to see how often I incorporate them into my looks.
This time I don’t know if I let myself being inspired by the Dolce & Gabbana dresses, for the ones designed by Lena Hoshek or by the Rio Carnaval. Yet the truth is that I wanted color. A lot of it, a blast of color. Nevertheless, it’s not that often when I use such vibrant colors on my makeup, so why not once in a while?
We wanted to take advantage of the city and also act like tourists for a day, escape from home and enjoy the beautiful Gallery Loft in the most vibrant neighborhood: Ehrenfeld. A quick search on Google will probably let you down, but that’s exactly what’s fun about it: it’s full of surprises when you decide to explore it. A neighborhood filled with young souls, with many bars and restaurants in a Berlin-a-like-style, an underground hipster flutter, relaxed but also hectic, with graffiti walls and small shops. Ehrenfeld is a must-see quarter if you ever come to Cologne, because even though it may not be in the list of the most touristic places in Cologne, that’s definitely a reason why you have to explore it. You will not be disappointed.
For these pictures, I didn’t only want to use this beautiful, popping violet sofa, but also a gorgeous flowers bouquet and my mood on creating a look inspired on the Brazilian flag. After the check out we went back home to leave out luggage and we headed to what I thought would be my festival of the year: Springinsfeld Festival. The weather seemed to be on our side, so we left with a big smile on our faces to the charming place where the festival was taking part: Fühlinger See.
We arrived to the festival and with it our disappointment. Even though the lineup looked very promising, the staged were poorly made, small and with almost no special effects. However, we took it with humor and decided to enjoy Oliver Heldens, one of his famous grandma vintage shirt and the non rhythmic but fun Germans.
All good until the flood came. Surprisingly for us, the festival was not prepared for this turn of event, there were barely any places under which you could stay, so after half of an hour under a tree that we thought it would protect us with its big leaves, we decided to go back home before a pneumonia would catch us. The idyllic landscape became a muddy one, so sadly, we took the tram back home.
I still have so many other stories to share with you, so many beautiful pictures and so many thoughts I want to put out here. More news soon to come, so stay tuned for them. Now it’s your turn, tell me, what do you think about this look? Was something out there this summer that disappointing you? Did you go to any festival?
